By using refugeanimalier.ca, you accept the following terms.

1. Nature of the site

Refuge Animalier is an independent directory. We are not a veterinary clinic or an emergency service, and we are not affiliated with the listed businesses, except where stated (Featured listings).

2. No veterinary advice

Site content, including articles, is for information only and never replaces the advice of a veterinarian. In an emergency for your animal, call a clinic directly before you travel.

3. Accuracy of information

Each listing is checked against an official source when it is created, but addresses, phone numbers, hours and availability may change without notice. Always confirm with the business.

4. Content prepared with artificial intelligence

Part of this site's content (listings, descriptions, articles, translations) is prepared with the help of artificial intelligence tools and then checked against official sources. Despite these checks, the site may contain errors, omissions or outdated information. Do not rely on this site alone for an important decision, especially in an emergency: confirm with the business or your veterinarian. If you notice a mistake, write to us and we will fix it.

5. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Refuge Animalier cannot be held responsible for any damage, delay or harm resulting from use of the site, including incorrect or outdated information, or a service obtained from a listed business.

6. Featured listings

A business may pay a monthly subscription ($15 per month, plus taxes where applicable) to appear first in its city and service type with a "Featured" badge. This placement is advertising: it is neither a recommendation nor a mark of quality. The subscription is managed by PayPal, with no commitment: you can cancel at any time in PayPal, and the featured placement ends at the end of the paid period. The subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled; the unused part of a month is not refunded unless required by law. If we refuse a request or cannot publish the listing, the subscription is cancelled and refunded. By providing a photo, the business confirms it holds the rights needed for it to be displayed.

7. Submitting a business

By submitting a request, you confirm you are authorized to represent the business and that the information provided is accurate. Each request is verified before publication (7 to 10 business days). We may refuse, edit or remove a listing, in particular if the information is inaccurate or misleading. You authorize us to display the information provided on the site. A business may at any time ask for its listing to be corrected or removed by writing to info.refugeanimalier@gmail.com.

8. Third-party advertising and links

The site may display advertising provided by third parties and contains links to other sites. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

9. Intellectual property

The texts, structure and layout of the site belong to Refuge Animalier. Business names and public information belong to their owners. Photos come from Unsplash under the Unsplash license. Some listings come from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL license) and are marked "To be confirmed" until verified.

10. Acceptable use

You may not copy the site by automated means, disrupt it, or submit false, illegal or misleading content.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights. If a clause is found invalid, the others remain in effect.

12. Changes

These terms may be updated. Continued use of the site after a change means acceptance. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page.
